BIO

Herb Guggenheim is intimately acquainted with the sleazy back alleys of the literary underworld. After barely graduating from high school and stumbling through four years of college, Herb studied creative writing with Henry Taylor, Frederick Barthelme, and John Barth. Though they tried to teach him, Herb was, at best, a mediocre student. Over the years, his poetry and short stories have appeared in The Beloit Poetry Journal, Gargoyle, The Florida Review, and several other lit mags both on and offline. He is the author of two books of poetry: Sunset at the Hotel Mira Mar (Infinity Publishing, 2011) and Strange Encounter at the Shakespeare Motel (Finishing Line Press, 2nd printing, 2017), and three novels:Violations of Causality (Ecclesiastes Press/CreateSpace, 2015). The Nothingness Imperative (Ecclesiastes, 2019), and his newest RESURRECTION 2020 (Ecclesiastes, 2022).Herb has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and a Best of the Net Award. In 2017, his poem “Poet” placed fifth in the Writer’s Digest annual writing competition and his novel Violations of Causality was a finalist in the Foreword INDIES Book of the Year competition. He does most of his writing at a seedy all-night diner in Bradenton, Florida.
